Training

Lacunazone specializes in offering online training, consultation and reflective practice for the following.  As part of our commitment in action to “filling gaps”, we regularly donate books to schools, colleges and other organisations which support and go alongside the training we offer.
Effective Support for Neurodiverse Children and Young People

Our intention for this training is for you to:

  • Increase awareness and understanding of neurodiversity
  • Increase knowledge of the seven examples of neurodiversity
  • Focused training in autism and ADHD
Transition Looked After Children and Young People

Our intention for this training is for you to:

  • Develop a real-life understanding of looked after children and young people’s experiences
  • Highlight the gaps in the transition
  • Explore and consider practical examples to change your practice
  • Be clear on how to implement new learning into practice
Protected Characteristics

Our intention for this training is to provide bespoke training to increase awareness on one or more of the 9 protected characteristics with a specific focus on young people’s experiences:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender reassignment
  • Marriage and civil partnership
  • Pregnancy and maternity
  • Race
  • Religion or belief
  • Sex
  • Sex orientation
Relational Aspects of Communication

Our intention for this training is for you to:

  • Share your experience of communicating with children and young people
  • Invitation to take part in role-play to deepen understanding of young people’s perspective
  • Increase awareness of the importance of verbal and non-verbal communication
  • Be clear on how to implement styles of communication into practice. 
Death and Dying

Our intention for this training is for you to:

  • Reduce the fear of being alongside children and young people who have experienced death and/or have a life-limiting condition
  • Increase confidence in having open conversations with children and young people about death and dying.
  • Be aware of age-appropriate resources to support you to be alongside children and young people.
  • More confidence in responding to bereaved children and young people. 
  • Understanding how grief presents across ages. 
Trauma and Attachment in Special Education

Our intention for this training is for you to:

  • Recognise when attachment need is primary to send
  • Understand attachment styles and how this relates to your setting
  • Learn the importance of “ nurture” language”
  • Be clear about how you can change your practice to support children and young people with attachment issues. 
  • Increase knowledge of resources that can support you.
